Biography:
Necmi Aksit holds a PhD in Educational Science, and an MA & BSc in English Language Teaching (ELT). He joined the Graduate School of Education in 2002, and he has been teaching mainly graduate level courses, and holding several positions of responsibility since then.  

Currenlty, Dr. Aksit is a teacher educator, and educational researcher in the Department of English Language Teaching, and of Educational Sciences. He serves as the Chair of the department of ELT, directing the MA in Teaching English as Foreign Language (TEFL) program. He is also Director of  Teacher Education Unit,  Assoc. Dean of Faculty of Education, and as Asst. Director of Graduate School of Education.  

Dr Aksit’s areas of research include teaching English for academic purposes (EAP), teacher education, curriculum development and evaluation, comparative education, qualitative meta-analysis and critical pedagogy.
